Scale AI Essentials: Assessment

 Learning path ~ Level 1 ~ 3 modules + final post-test ~ Self-paced ~ No prerequisites

The Scale AI Essentials Certificate is a foundational AI learning path made up of three interactive modules. It gives you a clear, jargon-free introduction to what AI is and how it works, how to judge and improve what it produces, and how to find real opportunities to use it in your own work. You can take the modules in any order. Each one ends with a graded assessment (80% to pass). Once you’ve completed all three, pass the final post-test with 80% or more to earn the Scale AI Essentials Certificate.

This learning path is for anyone in a non-technical role who wants a solid introduction to AI. No technical background is needed. It’s ideal if you’re starting to use AI tools in your day-to-day work, or want a strong foundation before moving on to more applied AI training.

what AI is, how it has evolved, and how Large Language Models generate answers using tokens, embeddings and prediction.

AI Output Quality: Judgment, Correction & Safe Use:

how to write better prompts, recognise hallucinations, sycophancy and outdated knowledge, explain how RAG grounds answers in trusted sources, and review AI output before using it safely.

how to decide which tasks suit AI, apply the AI opportunity filter, and draft your own AI use case.

10 questions covering all three modules. You need 80% to pass, and you can retake it as many times as you need.

By the end of this learning path, you’ll be able to:

Explain in plain language what AI and Generative AI are, and how they produce responses

Recognise AI’s limitations and know when human judgment is needed

Review AI-generated content and use AI safely and responsibly

Identify tasks in your work where AI can help, and describe them as a use case
